Japanese aluminum tea canister, perfect for preserving your tea (or any other ingredient such as rice, flour, or sugar) from air and humidity thanks to its double-seal closure.
Kinran Umezakura – Elegance and Japanese Tradition
Inspired by the sumptuous Kinran textile, introduced to Japan from the Ming dynasty during the Tenshō era (1573-1592), this metal canister pays tribute to an ancestral craftsmanship preserved in Kyoto’s Nishijin district. Kinran is a luxurious fabric where gold and silver threads intertwine with colored threads to create richly embossed patterns.
This refined design highlights a plum and cherry blossom motif (Umezakura) on a vertically striped background in deep shades of purple and indigo. A perfect balance between tradition and modernity, making it an exceptional gift idea.
- Type of canister: Printed metal, cylindrical shape
- Style: Japanese, inspired by traditional textiles
Design created in collaboration with Bando Shoten.
